The elders have decided to cancel all gatherings of Carrickfergus Baptist from today. This will include our AGM on Wednesday evening and all Church Services and ministries for the foreseeable future. Please share this news with anyone who you think might not have access to email or Facebook.
This is a difficult and emotional decision, but we believe it is the wisest thing to do at the moment to protect the health of our congregation and to be good citizens.
Although we cannot meet as a congregation, we are still able to function as a church family. We plan to use technology to share regular Bible teaching, including weekly Sunday videos, to help us all continue to grow in our faith. More specific details will follow in the next few days.
I would also encourage us all to be fervent in prayer as we pray for our church, our country, and our world at this challenging time.
There will obviously be pastoral needs that arise over the next few months and I would ask that you contact me, or any of the elders, so that we can support you in any way possible.
There will also be many practical issues as the virus takes hold in our community. I have asked the deacons to coordinate a practical response so that we can help and support our church family at this time. Please let us know if there are any needs within the congregation so that we can coordinate support.
Finally, I want to encourage us all to look to and trust the Lord in these difficult days.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
