Month of Prayer

Month of Prayer

We are powerless without prayer. Jesus said, ‘Without me you can do nothing,’ (John 15:5). As a result, prayer needs to be a personal and congregational priority.

September is the start of a new season of ministry within our church and we would like to focus our attention over the next month on prayer. This is a call for the whole church to passionately commit ourselves to pray throughout September as we ask God to work in and through Carrickfergus Baptist Church over the incoming year.

We want to encourage all our church family to engage in regular prayer. You can do this individually during your personal devotions or as a family as you gather to pray together. Perhaps you could meet up regularly with a few others to pray specifically for the life and ministry of our church.

All our services throughout September will have a focus and emphasis on prayer. On Sunday mornings we will be looking at what the Bible teaches about prayer and every evening service will have a time of corporate prayer as we seek the Lord together as a church. On Wednesday evenings we will take time to pray for different aspects of church life and ministry.

The Elders and Deacons would like to encourage and challenge everyone, regardless of age, to make every effort to attend our church services during September and actively seek the Lord in prayer as we look to him to do great things for His glory over the next year of ministry.
